Requiresextensive familiarity withtechnical terminology andjargon, and multimediaformats. - Work also includesthe ability to convert photo andgraphic formats and insertweb links, photographs,graphics, and video files. - Identifies inconsistenciesbetween text and charts,tables, and other graphics. - Restructures sentences forclarity without altering themeaning of the text.Contacts authors to resolveinconsistencies in factualinformation. - Identifies to theTechnical Writing leaderdocuments in need of majorreorganization. Providestechnical assistance toothers on a variety ofpublications which differ inmanner and style ofpresentation. - Proofreadsdocuments to verify that theproof or final copy is clearand concise. - Documentsshall be error-free whensubmitted to the TechnicalWriting leader/originatingoffices. - Safeguardspasswords and access tooffice computer files andprograms. | | Requirements: | (1) Shall have eight (8) yearsexperience as an EditorialTechnician/Technical Writer;or an Associates Degree inEnglish, Journalism, TechnicalWriting, MassCommunications, or Scienceand six (6) years experiencein technical writing or editing;or a Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism, TechnicalWriting, Communications,Science or Engineering andfour (4) years experience intechnical writing or editing (2) (2) Shall be proficient in theadvance functionality and toolsof Word and Adobe Acrobat. TRAVEL. May be required to travel on a short notice basis, to CONUS and OCONUS locations. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE). May be required to wear the appropriate PPE RESPIRATORS. May be required to wear a respirator to protect from potential respiratory hazards. Personnel issued respirators must be medically cleared andclean shaven MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS. Must be physically able to perform work in conditions of extreme heat and cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, working in confined spaces and at heights, and/or walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing personal protective equipment May be required to obtain a copy of the following exams and tests and provide to the company in some cases prior to starting work in certain areas. May be required a screening when working in certain specialized areas these screenings could be a urinalysis and/or in vivo lung scan and laser eye examinations on a random basis. Employees who support the firing missions that are exposed to loud noises which exceed the levels identified in 29 CFR Part 1910.95 shall receive the Audiometric Test Must maintain a 100% drug-free working environment May be required to operate motor vehicles in accordance with APGR 190-4, APGR 750-2, AR 190-5, AR 385-55, and AR 600-55. All personnel operating Government vehicles, and material handling equipment, shall be licensed in accordance with APGR 385-4, AR 600-55 and Technical Bulleting (TB) 600-2. To operate commercial and administrative (non-tactical) vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, contractor employees shall possess an OF 346 Operators Permit, US Army Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card. To obtain an OF 346, employees must have a valid state driver's license and successfully complete a Defensive Driver's Course. May be required to have a medical exam or test prior to working in particular areas.
