Job Summary
Adult Corrections Officer Recruits are responsible for maintaining safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. Duties include supervising individuals in custody, monitoring daily activities, enforcing facility rules, conducting searches, responding to emergencies, and supporting rehabilitation efforts. Recruits receive structured training and progressively assume independent responsibility for assigned security posts while ensuring the safe operation of correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain safety, security, and order within correctional facilities.
Supervise and monitor individuals in custody.
Enforce facility rules and regulations.
Conduct searches and security inspections.
Respond to emergencies and security incidents.
Support rehabilitation and positive behavior initiatives.
Complete required training and professional development.
Maintain accurate records and reports.
Work Environment
Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Overtime may be required.
Physically active work environment.
Frequent interaction with inmates, staff, and the public.
Fast-paced, security-focused workplace.
Requirements
Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Minimum one year of work experience demonstrating responsibility and communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Must be at least 21 years of age upon completion of training.
Ability to pass:Background investigation

Physical fitness assessment
Psychological evaluation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow policies, procedures, and security protocols.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
