Overview

Sunset Hills Country Club is seeking a passionate, service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Operations team. This individual will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional private club experience. The Assistant Golf Professional will work alongside the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations Manager to oversee daily golf operations, tournaments, merchandising, instructional programming, and member services. We are looking for an energetic leader who enjoys building relationships, creating memorable experiences, and developing professionally within a high-performing golf operation.

Experience Required

• 1-3 years of experience in golf operations or private club environment
• Strong knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration
• Golf Genius experience preferred
• Experience with POS systems
• Excellent communication and hospitality skills
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and tournament events
• Positive attitude with a team-first mentality
• Passion for delivering exceptional member service
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Valid driver's license

Essential Responsibilities

Member Experience

• Deliver outstanding member and guest service every day
• Build lasting relationships with members by learning names and preferences
• Assist with new member onboarding and orientation
• Handle member concerns professionally and promptly

Golf Shop Operations

• Open and close golf shop
• Daily merchandising and inventory management
• Retail sales and special orders
• Maintain professional golf shop presentation
• Assist with receiving and inventory counts

Tournament Operations

• Assist in planning and executing club tournaments and events
• Prepare tournament materials, scorecards, rules sheets, and pairings
• Manage Golf Genius tournament software
• Coordinate scoring and awards presentations
• Assist with shotgun starts and tournament setup

Daily Golf Operations

• Monitor pace of play
• Manage tee sheet and daily play
• Coordinate with outside services staff
• Assist with practice facility operations
• Ensure exceptional first tee experience

Instruction & Player Development

• Conduct private lessons when applicable
• Assist with junior golf programming
• Support ladies' clinics and beginner instruction
• Promote player development opportunities

Team Leadership

• Lead by example through positive energy and professionalism
• Assist in training seasonal associates
• Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment
• Support department goals and club initiatives

Facility Standards

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout golf operations
• Ensure all member touchpoints reflect Sunset Hills standards
• Support special events and club functions as needed
