OverviewAssistant Golf Professional
Position Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for the Members and Guests of Pine Forest Country Club. Working closely with the Director of Golf and Golf Operations team, this position assists in all aspects of the daily golf operation while helping foster a welcoming, service-oriented, and engaging club environment.
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in private club management, tournament operations, instruction, merchandising, and player development while preparing the individual for future leadership opportunities within the golf industry. The ideal candidate is energetic, member-focused, passionate about the game, and committed to helping Pine Forest continue to elevate its golf programming and overall member experience.
Experience Required
Experience & Qualifications
- PGA Associate actively working toward Membership or PGA Class A Member preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
- Experience in private club, resort, or hospitality environments preferred
- Strong understanding of golf operations, tournament administration, and member services
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
- Passion for teaching, player development, and growing participation in the game
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
Member & Guest Experience
- Deliver a first-class golf experience by providing personalized service to Members and Guests.
- Greet Members and Guests professionally and strive to build meaningful relationships throughout the club.
- Promote a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that reflects the culture and standards of Pine Forest Country Club.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Club both on and off property.
Golf Operations
- Assist in all daily golf operations, including opening and closing procedures, tee sheet management, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and operational efficiency within the golf operation.
- Assist in coordinating golf activities and events with other club departments to ensure seamless execution and communication.
- Help oversee golf car fleet operations, bag storage, practice facilities, and other golf services.
- Ensure all areas of the golf operation are presented at a high standard consistent with a premier private club experience.
Tournament & Member Programming
- Assist in the planning, promotion, administration, and execution of member tournaments, leagues, and special events.
- Utilize Golf Genius and other technology platforms to support tournament registration, scoring, communications, and results.
- Contribute ideas for innovative programming that increases member engagement and participation.
- Assist with junior golf, ladies' golf, men's golf, and member development programs.
Instruction & Player Development
- Provide individual and group golf instruction to Members and Guests.
- Support the growth and development of Pine Forest's instructional programs, including junior golf initiatives and player development pathways.
- Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching methods, technology, and industry trends.
- Participate in member golf activities and play with Members when appropriate to strengthen relationships and enhance the club experience.
Golf Shop & Merchandising
- Assist with golf shop merchandising, inventory management, receiving, pricing, displays, and special orders.
- Help create attractive and engaging retail displays that support sales and enhance the member experience.
- Promote golf shop merchandise and club programming through personal interaction and member communication.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory controls and operational procedures.
Team Leadership
- Assist in supervising and developing outside service staff and other golf operation team members.
- Foster a positive team culture built on communication, accountability, and service excellence.
- Support training efforts to ensure consistent service standards throughout the golf operation.
- Work collaboratively with all club departments to enhance the overall Member experience.
Professional Development
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Continue pursuing educational opportunities through the PGA and industry organizations.
- Represent Pine Forest Country Club with integrity and professionalism within the golf community.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all club safety and security procedures.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Golf.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support the success of the golf operation and the Club as a whole.
