Company Overview

CJM::LA was founded in 2013 by Courtney Jane Miller. Located in downtown Santa Barbara, California; our studio curates engaging experience and connectivity to place through the thoughtful arrangement of elements within the built environment.

CJM::LA is a full-service landscape architecture and creative studio with a commitment to excellence in design and efficiency in production. Our work ranges from hospitality, civic, institutional and mixed-use housing to public parks and luxury residential. Our practice is increasingly diverse, with projects expanding from private estates within the hills of Montecito; to visioning and landscape architectural design for national hospitality groups. Current projects are located throughout California, Arizona and Hawaii, with particular focus in the coastal California region.

Our team includes the CJM::LA studio as well as a diverse array of collaborators. Our design studio is comprised of a principal landscape architect, an associate principal, a project manager, a designer and support staff. Currently three of our team members are registered landscape architects.

Company History

Courtney created CJM::LA in 2013. As founder and principal landscape architect, she leads both the creative visioning and strategic planning for the design studio. An artist at heart, Courtney approaches her work in landscape architecture as a creative practice – weaving together technical knowledge with creative problem solving to produce unique, timeless and resilient landscapes.

In 2016, Nicole Greer joined CJM::LA - bringing expertise in urban planning, resource management and landscape architectural design to the CJM::LA team. As associate principal and director of operations, she promotes transparency and collaboration across all aspects of our work. Nicole pushes herself and others to take risks, innovate and surpass conventional design roles and traditions.
