Out Our Front Door is a small, grassroots non-profit based in Chicago that has been leading educational and immersive bike adventures since 2016. We are looking to fill a part-time paid position, 20 hours a week, starting asap (likely early February), ending in May or June. The pay is $1,600 a month. This is a 990 Contractor position.
The position is mainly remote so you will need a reliable computer and internet access. There will be at least weekly in person meetings (at Chicago cafes/libraries/etc that are conveniently located for you) as well as in person bike events that you will need to attend. You will be working closely with the co-founder and Executive Director of OOFD.
We want someone that is welcoming and believes in adventure. We want someone that is thrilled by the idea of breaking down barriers in order to help more Chicagolanders connect with local nature spaces via bike adventures. We want someone that enjoys working with volunteers (we are a completely volunteer run organization minus our founder/ED). We want someone who wants to learn about the inner workings of a small nonprofit as well as wants to contribute to make our programs and processes better.
Much of the time will be spent supporting the ED, board members, and volunteer program directors with projects such as the Guide Training in March, planning various bike camping trips, supporting with logistics for our Adaptive Program rides, general marketing of our programs, managing an email inbox, writing small grants, and donor outreach.
Additionally, the position will support us with building out our new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system - Neon One. This will include building out marketing (email and social), fundraising, workflows, and administrative tasks within and without the CRM.
This role is very much for someone that wants to learn and offer creative ideas. This opportunity offers a very unique experience of working on the frontlines of a small, yet established, non-profit that’s mission is to welcome people on our immersive, inclusive, and educational bike camping adventures. We aim to deepen our riders’ reverence for the region by exploring local trails while learning about the culture, history, and habitats native to the beautiful Lake Michigan area and beyond.
So if you love bikes, adventure, and nature and can stand with grace and integrity for our core WAVE values (Welcome, Adventure, Volunteer, Educate), we’d love to have you join us for this temporary role. Please submit a resume and cover letter to jobs@oofd.org. There will be two rounds of interviews.
