Location: This position will be at a Hagerman construction site. This is not a remote position.
Job Summary:
The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations on assigned projects to ensure completion within budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. This includes directing employees, managing resources, subcontractors, and client relationships while working independently to meet specific objectives with budgetary responsibilities. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Senior Superintendent Key Responsibilities:
Articulate project goals, assess personnel skill levels, assign appropriately, and review performance for developmental opportunities.
Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and budgets; analyze contract documents and turnover materials for ensure timely procurement and effective project execution.
Partner with Project Management to develop schedules, monitor budgets, and ensure cost control for labor, materials, and equipment.
Communicate clearly with project teams, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and enforce subcontractor scopes of work.
Conduct regular progress meetings covering milestones, coordination, issues, and safety.
Ensure project quality through compliance with specifications and QA/QC policy; produce accurate daily reports, logs, schedules, and documentation.
Lead safety practices including toolbox talks, site and equipment inspections, and compliance with Corporate Safety Policies.
Cultivate positive relationships with Architects, Owners, and subcontractors.
Perform additional project management tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; BA/BS/AS or accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.
Minimum 15 years of progressive field construction experience, including 10+ years in a supervisory role (trade worker, foreperson, Superintendent, or related).
High level of technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities from construction or engineering-related training.
Proficiency in reading plans and specifications with overall knowledge of the construction industry, including mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand project finances. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
Valid driver's license with insurable motor vehicle record.
Proficiency with PM software (Procore preferred) and Microsoft Suite, including cost spreadsheets, aging reports, and labor productivity reports.
Familiarity with contract administration, RFIs, Schedule of Values, monthly billings, and construction scheduling (predecessors, successors, constraints, float, lags).
Ideal candidates will have significant experience in scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance on complex projects in all phases.
