About the Secondary Math Teacher
The Secondary Math Teacher at First Baptist Christian Academy in Pasadena is a key contributor role reporting directly to the Secondary Principal, with no responsibility for supervising staff or managing budgets. This position focuses on teaching middle and/or high school math within a college-preparatory framework, ensuring students master core subjects such as geometry through strong instructional practices, effective classroom management, and faithful use of established curriculum resources.
The ideal candidate holds at least a bachelor’s degree, brings 3–5 years of teaching experience, and demonstrates both academic excellence and a commitment to Christ-centered education. Beyond the classroom, this role offers the opportunity to invest in students relationally and spiritually, contributing to a mission-driven environment that values both high-quality instruction and meaningful discipleship.
The Secondary Math Teacher’s responsibilities include:
Effectively communicating mathematical concepts (such as geometry) to ensure students fully master the material.
Utilizing strong and effective instructional methodologies.
Following the school’s established curriculum and using the assigned primary resources for instruction. Mindful and discerning in using secondary sources.
Maintaining strong classroom management and following directives regarding how to manage students.
Actively listening to and implementing advice, instructions, and directives from supervisors.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree is a must. Teaching certification a plus.
Willing to receive ACSI certification within first year of employment.
2-3 years of teaching experience
