Description
Applications are invited for a non-tenure-track, 12-month ranked faculty appointment in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy. This faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor rank will support the educational and the patient care missions of the UMKC School of Pharmacy and an ambulatory care site in the Kansas City area.
The successful candidate will have academic responsibilities that may include didactic lecturing and applied skills labs assessment; provision of interprofessional education; elective course instruction and/or development; and the provision of experiential education at the IPPE and APPE levels. They will be expected to contribute to the creative and scholarly pursuits of the Division. Service to the UMKC School of Pharmacy, its Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration, the University and profession are expected through participation in faculty meetings, service on School committees, and participation in state and national professional organizations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing pharmacy patient care services as a member of an interprofessional integrated care team. Clinical responsibilities will involve the provision of quality and innovative clinical pharmacy services that ensure rational and safe drug therapy in clinic patients. The candidate will be expected to develop a new ambulatory clinical practice site and the setting will be determined based on the interest of the candidate and the needs of the School.
Requirements
Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient care skills are essential. Candidates must have an earned Pharm.D. with a PGY1 residency or equivalent experience and must be eligible for Missouri licensure. Candidates with a PGY2 Residency in Ambulatory Care or Psychiatric Pharmacy equivalent and experience with developing pharmacy service lines are preferred.
