Description
This position is responsible for developing, scheduling and delivering training, primarily in the technology area, that meets the time critical needs of attorneys and staff. The position will teach classroom training, conduct one-on-one training and develop training aids, training documentation and other training tools. This position is responsible for tracking and evaluating training effectiveness, maintaining training records, and reporting on training activity. The position is actively involved in firm wide technology rollouts. The Trainer will report to the firm’s User Experience Manager.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain content for the firm’s learning management system (LMS).
Conduct new hire orientation and continuous learning for existing attorneys and staff.
Collaborate with Information Technology and vendors on application updates for training-related application including the LMS, viDesktop, and content providers.
Develop training materials and documentation for presentation through the web.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Administration and the User Experience Manager
Essential Technology Skills:
A solid foundation and aptitude for understanding and applying various computer applications is essential. The Trainer will need to be a consistent self-starter and self-learner. The trainer will need to be able to engage, trouble-shoot and pivot for in-person, hybrid and virtual training environments. The trainer will need to have the attitude and aptitude to understand a variety of business processes including billing, client management, and marketing.
Training experience in any one or more of the following applications is considered a plus:
Work 10 Document Management System
Interaction CRM
Adobe Acrobat
Kofax Power PDF
ViDesktop
Aderant Accounting
Microsoft (Office Suite, Office 365 & Teams)
Zoom
Overnight travel to the Firm’s different offices will be required from time to time depending on the training/business needs of the firm.
Requirements
The Trainer will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Law firm or professional services experience is a plus.
Strong written and oral communications skills, and must be able to convey ideas in a manner that is convincing to others.
Strong interpersonal skills that allow the ability to work with a variety of attorneys and administrative staff, and the professional presence and demeanor to represent the firm in its technology functions to the attorneys, staff, administrative departments and clients. Must also have the ability to stand before a room of attorneys and staff with a professional demeanor that commands respect and attention.
High comfort level and aptitude for in-person, hybrid and virtual training environments.
Team player and must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with other administrative areas in order to accomplish the firm’s goals.
The ability to be creative and open to providing a variety of learning mediums including: formal and informal presentations, on-site training, video recording, and one/one training.
The ability to be flexible and pivot with changing business priorities.
The ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment. Confidentiality is expected.
The position is hybrid but must be based out of the Nashville Office.
