Description
OverviewWe are seeking to hire a full-time staff member to assist in administering and managing Section tournaments, qualifiers and championships. This includes being onsite during events, working as a rules official, providing service to our PGA Members and assisting other departments as needed. This candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, hard-working and be able to manage various projects simultaneously.
Experience Required
- Candidate must have a passion for the game of golf. Participation in the game is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of tournament administration experience, preferably with a PGA Section or allied golf association.
- Skills in planning and organizing, event management and managing multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
- Proficient information technology skills.
- Experience with social media platforms.
- Ability to travel throughout the territory of the Minnesota Section and work extended hours including some weekends and evenings.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in managing numerous tournaments for the Minnesota Section.
- Golf course set-up and preparation, including communicating with tournament sites, course markings, signage creation and on-course staging.
- Rules officiating, pace of play enforcement and volunteer coordination.
- Scoring of players & scoreboard management.
- Purse and player of the year points management.
- Equipment inventory, maintenance and replenishment.
- Assist staff as needed in carrying out tournament marketing objectives including but not limited to social media posts, website updating and tournament press releases.
- Other responsibilities as dictated by the Tournament Director and other Senior Leadership.
