Description
Assumes responsibility for translating interrelated strategic initiatives into large, complex project plans and programs for execution within Valley Health Partners Community Health Center (VHP). In collaboration with project sponsor(s) and leader(s), the Senior Project Manager plans, resources, implements, controls, and evaluates projects that support VHP's strategic plan. The Senior Project Manager communicates regularly and often works one-on-one with senior leadership on a wide variety of topics and/or projects. Strategic thinking, flexibility, innovation, and creativity are critical to the role. The Senior Project Manager provides technical and organizational leadership in specific area(s) of specialization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or related field.
Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or related field, preferred.
Experience:
Four years of project management experience in a complex healthcare setting.
Certificate/Training:
Project management certification (such as PMP) or advanced training in project management.
Skills Needed:
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
Ability to identify business development and opportunities.
Interpersonal skills and leadership to manage large, complex projects working effectively with internal and external executive personnel to accomplish organizational goals.
Knowledge of healthcare work processes for all healthcare departments and divisions.
Strong research and strategic analysis skills.
Ability to use project management techniques to keep all teams aligned and focused on milestone level task reporting.
Maintains appropriate confidentiality in working with stakeholders.
Strong emotional intelligence and adept at relationship building.
Essential Functions:
Assists the project leadership and/or sponsor(s) to develop the requirements and build a path toward the strategic goals.
Develops the project plan including tasks, resources and timeline and integrates plans across multiple projects.
Manages and motivates multiple teams across several projects to achieve shared goal, while developing relationships with key stakeholders across common projects.
Develops and integrates comprehensive communication plans across several related projects to provide consistent to key stakeholders.
Forecasts project risks based on prior knowledge and experience and assesses impact of a project change across multiple projects or program.
Independently leads and facilitates assigned projects, in collaboration with team members, key stakeholders and leadership working across multiple business areas and stakeholder groups.
Focuses on team's performance, ensuring accountability and engagement.
Leads projects, delivering work product within clearly defined timelines and organization interrelated projects into programs while exhibiting open-mindedness and ability to manage ambiguity.
Effectively conducts written and oral project updates for senior management and other leaders.
Demonstrates eagerness and curiosity to understand core business elements critical to project's success in relevant topics (e.g. healthcare operations, patient access and experience, healthcare information technology, human resources, finance, and revenue cycle) through independent reading, professional networking, and/or attending relevant conferences & workshops.
