Symbotic, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYM) is seeking a Sr. Manager Talent Management with expertise in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and enterprise performance management. This role leads enterprise performance management and careers for both field and corporate populations and serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on performance strategy, design, and execution. It requires a proven expert in enterprise performance management who can design and implement rigorous, research-backed frameworks that drive business outcomes and reward high performance. The Senior Manager partners closely with business and HR leaders to reinforce leadership behaviors, enable career growth and internal mobility. This role plays a critical part in building the systems and mindsets that accelerate performance and prepare Symbotic for future growth.
- Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Symbotic’s enterprise performance management process, ensuring clear alignment between performance and business outcomes.
- Serve as the organization’s expert in performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and performance differentiation.
- Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to embed and reinforce leadership behaviors that reflect Symbotic’s high performance culture.
- Collaborate with Compensation to align performance outcomes with pay-for-performance principles, recognition, and career progression.
- Partner with HRIS to optimize Workday functionality for performance and development, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
- Design and deliver training, communications, and toolkits to strengthen leader capability in coaching, feedback, and performance conversations.
- May support validation and analytics to evaluate process effectiveness.
- Support career and internal mobility initiatives, defining frameworks and criteria for advancement across roles and functions.
- Stay current on industry trends, research, and legal requirements in performance management and organizational development to inform best practices. Champion evidence-based practices grounded in validated I-O psychology research—avoiding unproven trends.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or related HR disciplines, including direct ownership of a company-wide performance management process.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing validated, data-informed performance and assessment frameworks.
- Experience working in complex, high-growth, or matrixed organizations, ideally within technology, robotics, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven success leveraging Workday or comparable systems to enable scalable, integrated talent processes. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with measurable impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill data into clear stories and targeted recommendations.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field strongly preferred.
