Description

The Sr. Educational Advisor's primary focus will be to collaborate with CTE leaders and state and district leadership teams to continue development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of CTE's Leadership and Educational Impact strategies. The individual will provide high-quality technical assistance and support to educational leaders regarding implementation of evidence-based practices to improve performance outcomes for children and youth. In addition, this role will engage with leaders from various state agencies, technical assistance center leadership teams, and international educational leaders, as needed.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

• Provide strategic vision and consultation to targeted leadership teams.
• Co-facilitate the JHU Dynamic Impact: Team-directed Continuous Improvement Approach.
• Collaborate on research and evaluation of projects related to closing achievement gaps, fidelity of implementation, and data-informed decision making, and high-performance teaming.
• Complete responsibilities outlined within scopes of work of grant and contract initiatives.
• Maintain detailed project plans and routinely report progress of the deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to produce reports, articles, and professional publications.

• A strong preference will be given to professionals with experience and knowledge in the fields of transformational leadership, implementation of evidence-based practices, program management (including fiscal oversite of projects, supervision of program facilitators, and effective collaboration with external partners), state, district, and school levels.
• Able to problem-solve and find solutions to technical challenges using positive team-driven practices.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines.
• Able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including international and national stakeholders, state department and school district leaders; agency and private program leaders; community stakeholders; teachers and administrators; and research scholars in the fields of early childhood, special education, and transformative leadership.
• Experience with use of web-based technologies.
• Awareness of, and preferable experience in, understanding and meeting the needs of all learners and their families, staff and caregivers; including children with special needs, children living in poverty, and children from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Extensive, successful experience supervising professional staff, sub-contractors and/or associates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's Degree or PhD
• Some experience working with doctoral students

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree
• Five or more years of experience at the school, district, and/or state level, including executive administration, grant proposal management, analysis of teacher and student performance data, and evaluation.
• Executive Leadership Experience
• Bilingual- Spanish/English
• Self-directed with a teamwork orientation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong online proficiency
• Experience with evaluation procedures, including developing logic maps, assessing progress, and generating mid and annual reports.
• Able to demonstrate a translation of research into practice-showing how analyses of data trends and findings were turned into actionable recommendations for public policy, programmatic decisions, and effective implementation of evidence-based practices.
