Job overview and responsibilities
The Specialist - Cabin Systems is responsible for the development, implementation and auditing of aircraft interior projects to support the appropriate functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance of the flight attendant workplace and to promote customer safety and comfort onboard the aircraft. The Specialist will work with interfacing departments and aircraft manufacturers and integrators to determine cabin configuration, galley, lavatory, stowage, lighting, and crew rest design, along with customer-facing components for all new and reconfigured aircraft. The role will also support aircraft certification activites and work closely with the training and policy & procedures teams to ensure cabin features are appropriately reflected in all manuals and training materials. The role will also analyze aircraft data trends while incorprating SMS risk analysis principles.
- Conduct new aircraft final interior inspection, induction, and conformity audits
- Support the development and implementation of aircraft interior projects to support flight attendants and customers
- Serve as a subject matter expert in aircraft interior programs and configurations
- Performs audits to ensure cabin interiors, systems and equipment are in regulatory and company compliance
- Communicate with flight attendants on cabin design and system issues
- Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Network Strategy, Catering Operations, and other applicable departments to ensure all aircraft interior designs comply with company and regulatory standards
- Completes comprehensive analysis across numerous data sources, summarize information, identifies, escalates, and presents trends to Inflight leader
- Effectively utilize audit data to convey trends and analysis to both internal and external operational stakeholders, per United's SMS program
- Supports the Safety Management System (SMS) though risk analysis of data obtained through irregular operations reports, Inflight Safety Action Programs reports, United Voices, and other various data streams.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years of related experience
- Technical and operational familiarity with cabin communication, galley and entertainment systems, emergency equipment, and aircraft certification standards
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to convey technical information in a succinct and discernable manner to executive leadership
- Willing to travel up to 50%
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $66,500.00 to $86,616.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
