In this full-time role, you'll enhance proprietary technology vital to Canada's alternative investment sector. You'll contribute across front- and back-end development, collaborating with analysts and users to deliver robust, user-focused applications. The company values growth, flexibility, inclusion, and innovation - offering an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Key Responsibilities:
In the capacity of Senior Full Stack Engineer-working remotely from Toronto-you will be immersed in all facets of software development: from initial requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Your daily activities will center on close collaboration with business analysts to define user requirements before translating these into technical solutions that underpin essential fund administration services. You will be expected to deliver reliable applications that surpass user expectations while maintaining open channels of communication with management regarding project progress. Success in this role is defined not only by your ability to produce resilient code but also by your positive contributions to team dynamics through knowledge sharing, peer support, and advocacy for process improvements. Your capacity for technical excellence, combined with empathy for users' perspectives, will distinguish you as an invaluable member of this progressive organization.
- Engage collaboratively with business analysts and end-users to elicit functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive application designs that address evolving organizational needs.
- Architect, develop, test, and deploy sophisticated software solutions utilizing contemporary frameworks and technologies across both front-end and back-end domains.
- Refine existing proprietary systems by introducing new functionalities, enhancing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with other internal platforms.
- Participate constructively in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and team meetings to promote a culture of perpetual improvement and learning.
- Provide limited after-hours application support as required to uphold system reliability and promptly resolve critical issues.
- Maintain transparent communication with management regarding project milestones, potential risks, and any matters that may influence client satisfaction or operational efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to optimize processes related to software delivery, quality assurance, and deployment pipelines.
- Foster strong professional relationships with colleagues across various departments to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Contribute thoughtfully to process enhancements that advance efficiency, scalability, and maintainability within the software development lifecycle.
To flourish as a Senior Full Stack Engineer within this esteemed environment, you will bring forth substantial technical expertise developed through extensive experience designing intricate applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS, MS SQL databases, WCF services, among others. Your background should reflect not only profound technical capabilities but also a genuine appreciation for collaborative problem-solving-engaging constructively with stakeholders from varied backgrounds to deliver solutions precisely attuned to their requirements. A robust educational foundation in computer science (or equivalent) will serve you well; however, what truly sets you apart is your ability to communicate clearly within teams while remaining sensitive to differing viewpoints. Your scrupulous approach ensures no detail is overlooked, even when managing multiple priorities concurrently. While direct exposure to investment fund operations is advantageous, it is by no means essential-your readiness to assimilate new domains expeditiously will bridge any knowledge gaps. Above all else, your dependability, integrity empathy for users' challenges render you an indispensable addition who elevates both product quality and workplace culture.
- Advanced proficiency in object-oriented software design principles applied comprehensively across both front-end and back-end environments.
- A minimum of five years' substantive experience developing C# applications encompassing coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance responsibilities.
- Demonstrated mastery of ASP.NET MVC framework as well as AngularJS for constructing responsive web interfaces; advanced knowledge is highly regarded.
- Thorough understanding of relational database concepts with practical experience employing MS SQL for data modelling and query optimization.
- Extensive familiarity with WCF (Windows Communication Foundation), XML web services, and Service Oriented Architecture patterns, facilitating scalable integrations.
- Proven record of successfully delivering complex software projects punctually whilst adhering rigorously to best practices in quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline; supplementary certifications or IT training are considered advantageous.
- Exemplary communication skills coupled with refined inter-personal abilities enabling effective collaboration across diverse groups.
- Capacity for independent workload management whilst prioritizing tasks judiciously under minimal supervision without compromising meticulousness.
- Knowledge of investment fund industry systems or completion of relevant financial designations such as CFA or CSC would be beneficial, though not obligatory.
- This organization distinguishes itself as Canada's largest independent administrator devoted exclusively to alternative funds - a reflection not only of its scale but also its unwavering dedication to client service innovation and employee wellbeing.
