Job DescriptionThe University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), Department of Medicine - Administration Division, is currently recruiting a Senior Business & Quality Improvement Analyst.

UMB is a public university and constituent institution of the University System of Maryland. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.
Primary Duties:
- Lead the development business and quality process improvement models and implementation for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve improved quality care projects and initiatives. Identify resources needed, people to be involved and the logistics of accomplishing the project. Responsible for ensuring that the goals are met based on action plans.
- Develop strategy, constructs business models, program work plans, long-term goals, and other strategic objectives to build and operationalize the program(s) and advance the mission.
- Document and analyze workflow for major processes to identify inefficiencies. Develop improvement solutions, present key performance indicators (KPIs) to management to assist in implementation decisions.
- Develop novel strategies to support consistent business and change management practices, measurement of outcomes, achievement, and performance. Assure that practices and outcomes are aligned with programmatic and university mission and strategic direction.
- Use innovative redesign processes to achieve efficiencies and effective use of resources. Identify approaches for continuous quality improvement.
- Assist in implementation of new processes and monitors programmatic performance and trends as well as financial goals. Aligns standards and practices to support business practices.
- Prepare reports, develop databases, and analyze data that increase data driven decisions in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of business operations experience with process redesign and utilization of quality improvement and/or change management strategies.
Supervisory Experience: N/A
Certification/Licensure: Six Sigma or Lean or other change management and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications preferred.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Hiring Range: $100,000 - $110,000, Commensurate with education and experience
