Description

The Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC), serving as the Lead Partner Agency (LPA) for Oglesby Elementary School’s Sustainable Community Schools (SCS) Initiative, is seeking a passionate and organized SCS Resource Coordinator.

This position plays a key role in connecting school, family, and community resources to support student learning, family engagement, and whole-child development. The Coordinator will help bring the vision of a community-driven, equity-focused school to life by aligning programs, partnerships, and resources around student and family success.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of the SCS model at Oglesby Elementary in collaboration with the school principal and GAGDC.

Convene and facilitate an SCS Leadership Team of parents, students, educators, and community partners.

Coordinate afterschool, enrichment, and family engagement programs that reflect Oglesby’s goals and priorities.

Conduct community assets and needs mapping to guide planning and partnerships.

Build strong, authentic relationships with families, educators, and local organizations.

Manage attendance, reporting, and compliance for all SCS-funded programs.

Support communication, recruitment, and collaboration across the Oglesby school community.

Qualifications Required:

Commitment to racial equity, youth voice, and community partnership.

Experience in community organizing, youth development, education, or program coordination.

Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

Knowledge of Chicago Public Schools and the Auburn Gresham community.

Experience in restorative practices, wraparound services, or culturally responsive programming.

Work Location: Oglesby Elementary School (Chicago, IL)

Reports To: GAGDC (Lead Partner Agency) & Oglesby School Principal

Schedule: Full-time; occasional evenings/weekends for school or community events
