Description
The Project Engineer will lead the planning design, review, and construction of water infrastructure projects for the District. This role will ensure delivery of potable water system improvements, coordinate with development activity, and manage the District's construction technicians. The ideal candidate holds a Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, has strong water system and infrastructure experience, and is comfortable in a fast-growing utility environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience in water infrastructure or public works.
- Experience in project management of water distribution systems and treatment facility projects.
- Experience reviewing design/construction plans for compliance with utility and regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of civil water system design, hydraulics, and potable water infrastructure.
- Familiarity with development plan review and contractor/consultant management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Licensed Professional engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
- Experience with bidding/contracting public works projects and contract administration.
- Proficiency with GIS, hydraulic modeling and asset management tools.
