 Job Summary 
 SMSI is hiring a Senior Scheduler to provide in-office support from Oak Ridge, TN to a DOE capital project located on the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. The candidate will work a hybrid schedule based in Oak Ridge office with some short-term travel to SRS and/or vendor facilities on the east coast each month or as required.
 Duties and Responsibilities: 
 - Support the Project Controls System.
- Provides/supervises schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities.
- Supports project organizational and administrative activities.
- Responsible for scheduling activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for discipline/projects/proposal cost and planning activities which require a high degree of technical skilled experience.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions and schedule guidance to projects.
- Ensures work is completed as scheduled.
- Has broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
- Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories.
- Works on unusually significant, unique or complex issues, provides solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Has impact on success of future concepts, products or technologies.
- Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. Assignments are often self-initiated. Virtually self-supervisory. Uses independent judgment for determining course of action to accomplish objectives. Uses wide latitude in the methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Position requires experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Skilled in oral and written communication. Proficiency in using personal computer operating systems, including several basic software applications. Proficiency in using Primavera P6 and other discipline-specific software applications currently used.
- Demonstrates a senior level of understanding of project controls general technical skills.
- Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
Requirements:
 - U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidates must be able to work onsite in Oak Ridge, TN.
- Candidate must be able to travel for short term trips to client site in South Carolina as required.
- Minimum of 15-20 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience in P6 Primavera, Deltek Cobra, and/or risk management software applications (e.g. Acumen Risk, Crystal Ball, etc.) is required.
- Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience working within DOE, federal, or commercial nuclear environments is highly preferred.
Education Requirement:
 - Bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience or Associate's degree and 17 years of experience.
- 19 years of experience in lieu of degree.
