Description
Role: Product OwnerOverview We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the delivery of scalable, high-quality Point-of-Sale (POS) retail solutions. This role bridges the gap between stakeholders, development teams, and end users-ensuring consistent functionality across in-store, mobile, and online touchpoints. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of retail POS systems, and a proactive mindset to streamline application features and drive alignment across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements & Analysis
- Collect, analyze, and validate detailed business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Perform gap and impact assessments between current POS capabilities and evolving business needs.
- Facilitate clarification sessions and finalize user stories in collaboration with product and project teams.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
- Define clear acceptance criteria for each user story.
- Support development and QA teams throughout sprints to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
2. Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary liaison between business users, product management, and technical teams.
- Lead workshops, sprint demos, UAT sessions, and feedback cycles.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, and project status clearly and consistently.
3. Project Coordination & Dependency Management
- Partner with project managers and scrum masters for sprint planning and execution.
- Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, especially those involving third-party integrations (e.G., payment gateways, loyalty platforms).
- Monitor progress and help resolve blockers to maintain delivery timelines.
4. Retail POS Domain Focus
- Recommend enhancements to POS features such as transactions, returns, inventory, promotions, loyalty, receipts, and cashier workflows.
- Ensure support for multi-store operations, offline functionality, hardware integrations (scanners, printers, payment devices), and omnichannel use cases.
- Validate compliance with retail operations, financial reconciliation, tax standards, and regional regulations.
Required Skillset
Domain Expertise
- Experience in the quick service restaurant domain is required.
- 2-4 years as a Product Owner in the Retail POS space.
- Strong grasp of retail workflows including inventory, promotions, pricing, loyalty, returns, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Familiarity with omnichannel retail, e-commerce integration, and store operations is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.G., JIRA, Confluence).
- Skilled in writing structured user stories, process flows, and wireframes.
- Basic knowledge of APIs, databases, and system integrations (preferred).
- Comfortable with tools like Excel, Visio, and Lucidchart for modeling processes and data.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.
- Proactive problem-solving with a focus on quality and delivery.
- Adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving retail tech environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience with cloud-based POS systems.
Travel Requirements
