Job Summary

The jobholder is the subject matter expert on the topics of project planning and is a key reference point for his team members. S/He is in charge of the project planning activities for projects of medium to high complexity in K&A. The jobholder works closely with Project Managers for the development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets for assigned projects. S/He supports Project Managers with the preparation and administration of Project Management Plans, including schedule baselines, project scope baselines, man-hour estimates, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities (Financial)

• Work closely with Project Managers in developing detailed project budgets for the assigned projects of medium to high complexity
• Support Project Managers with the monitoring and management of project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring the adherence to allocated budgets for the assigned projects of medium to high complexity

Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)

• Provide input related to project schedule and budget to Project Managers to support the preparation and provision of project progress updates to clients, as needed
• Provide technical subject matter expertise to proposal teams during proposal preparation, as needed
• Develop publications showcasing K&A's expertise in the field to further promote K&A's brand in the market

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Provide subject matter expertise on technically complex and focused project planning topics
• Provide sophisticated technical subject matter expertise to junior planning teams and Project Managers
• Support Project Managers with the management of the assigned projects of medium to high complexity, particularly with respect to schedule and cost control
• Provide support to Project Managers with the development of project management plans, including schedule baselines, project scope baselines, man-hour estimates, and budgets, as needed
• Develop scope baseline, detailed work breakdown structures, project activities, and critical path charts for the assigned projects of medium to high complexity, in coordination with respective Project Managers
• Closely work with Project Managers in monitoring and managing project schedules, and implement modifications to schedule baselines, in coordination with respective Project Managers, as needed
• Work closely with Project Managers in managing changes in project scope, potential risks, and contingency plans, as needed
• Track the preparation and collection of invoices for K&A's deliverables, in coordination with local Finance teams, as needed
• Work closely with Project Managers for the preparation of periodic project progress reports for the assigned projects of medium to high complexity, flagging major issues, as needed
• Implement corporate policies and procedures

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• PMP certification is preferred

• Strong knowledge of [sector] design, covering specializations
• Strong knowledge of project management software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage

Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role

10+ years of industry experience in infrastructure projects, particularly in construction supervision projects planning function

Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role

• 10+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Planning Industry in a top-tier regional/multinational engineering consultancy firm

• Proficiency and track record in planning of construction supervision projects, including schedule control and cost control, especially in infrastructure projects

• Proficiency with the usage of complex functions of project management software (e.g., Primavera)
• Significant experience within the Middle East
