Description
The Department of Finance and Business Analytics in the Neidorff School of Business at Trinity University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Finance position, beginning August 10, 2026. This is a renewable, non-tenure-track appointment with an initial three-year term.
The primary teaching responsibility of this position is to teach the introductory-level finance courses. The successful candidate will be a passionate and effective teacher dedicated to engaging undergraduate business students, primarily sophomores. They should demonstrate excellence in classroom instruction, enthusiasm for introducing students to the field of finance, and the ability to make complex financial concepts accessible and relevant.
The primary service responsibility of this position is to play an active role in student professional development of finance majors, including organizing networking and career-related events, integrating career readiness and professional skills into coursework, and implementing career preparation initiatives. The department especially welcomes candidates who are eager to inspire students to pursue finance as a major and help them connect classroom learning with meaningful career opportunities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
Preferred: Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate students, particularly in foundational or introductory finance courses.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make complex financial concepts accessible and relevant to diverse learners.
Active participation in student professional development initiatives such as résumé and interview workshops, networking events, or career preparation programs.
Professional experience in the finance industry or established relationships with industry practitioners that can enhance student learning and career outcomes.
Demonstrated use of inclusive, experiential, or technology-enhanced teaching methods that foster engagement among all students.
Strong commitment to student learning, engagement, and success in a liberal arts environment.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred: Professional certifications such as CFA, CFP, or similar credentials that demonstrate mastery of finance concepts and industry engagement.
