Leave Administration SpecialistA Leave Administration Specialist manages employee leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies like the FMLA and ADA. This role serves as a point of contact for employees, processes claims, handles all related documentation, and communicates with vendors, medical providers, and management. They are experts on leave policies and provide guidance to employees and managers regarding leave options and procedures. Key responsibilities
- Administering leaves: Manage the full leave process from initial notice to return-to-work, including personal, medical, and disability leaves.
- Ensuring compliance: Stay up-to-date and ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
- Processing claims: Handle claims for Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave.
- Managing documentation: Collect and maintain all necessary medical documentation and other required paperwork for leave requests.
- Acting as a liaison: Serve as a central point of contact between employees, managers, HR, and external vendors (e.G., disability carriers).
- Providing guidance: Advise employees and managers on leave policies, legal requirements, and the procedures for requesting and managing leave.
Tracking leave balances: Manage and adjust employee leave balances and track usage.
Problem-solving: Address questions and resolve issues related to leave administration for employees and managers.
