Description
Entry Requirements :Candidates should have -
(a) first or second class honours degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Law, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines in finance-related field [see Notes (1) and (2)];
(b) at least eight years of relevant post-degree full-time working experience in private equity, legal profession, investment consultancy or investment banking, five years of which should be in position with supervisory responsibilities [see Note (3)];
(c) solid experience in private fund structuring and reviewing investment-related legal documentation such as limited partnership agreement and fund subscription document, as well as exposure to private equity transactions is preferred;
(d) thorough understanding and hands-on knowledge on investment-related legal documentation, local financial regulations and local / greater Asia private equity markets, familiarity with Limited Partnership Fund Ordinance (Cap. 637) is preferred;
(e) a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English, with Level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Notes (2) and (4)];
(f) strong analytical, negotiation and presentation skills; and
(g) good work ethic, strong commitment to excellence, high self-motivation and ability to work proactively on individual and with various internal and external parties.
Note :
(1) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses.Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a higher degree in a relevant subject in finance-related field, Chartered Financial Analyst, Postgraduate Certificate in Laws etc.) should include details in their applications.

(3) Candidates must list the nature, relevancy and duration of each of the post-degree full-time working experience on their application forms. Candidates should also submit a curriculum vitae (CV) including a summary of present and previous employment, positions, jobs and responsibilities. Copies of supporting documents of present and previous employment should be provided. (please refer to the paragraph of "How to Apply" below).
(4) For the purpose of appointment of Non-Civil Service Contract Staff, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(5) Candidate, if employed, may be required to assume duty at short notice.

Duties :
The Investment Advisor (Innovation and Technology Industry-Oriented Fund) is mainly deployed to :
(a) oversee the selection of fund managers and assess the applications, perform ongoing monitoring of the investment performance of the fund managers and the sub-funds, and communicate with the appointed fund managers regularly for updates on the sub-funds of the Innovation and Technology Industry-Oriented Fund (ITIF);
(b) co-ordinate with legal advisors and other professional parties in negotiating and reviewing legal documents and ensure that all the terms and conditions stated in the fund documents are in line with the framework of ITIF;
(c) advise senior management on investment-related matters on ITIF, including drawing management attention to potential risk factor, such as reputation risk, as well as the viability and validity of the investment proposals submitted by the fund managers;
(d) oversee the performance of due process as necessary on the deployment of capital;
(e) monitor the ITIF portfolio companies' development, particularly in Hong Kong;
(f) provide regular updates to senior management and Steering Committee on the operations of ITIF; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.
Terms of Appointment : Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms normally for two years.Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need and the performance of the appointee.
Fringe Benefits :
(a) A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, may add up to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
