Description
The St. John School District in Whitman County, Washington is seeking a dedicated High School Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
This position plays a critical role in supporting student learning, engagement, and successful completion of graduation requirements. The selected candidate will provide in-person instruction in a small, rural school setting where relationships matter and every student is known.
The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction, aligning curriculum to Washington State standards, and using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. This includes planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, differentiating instruction, and integrating technology to enhance learning.
The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive classroom environment, maintaining strong communication with students, families, and staff, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive school culture. In a small school setting, flexibility and a willingness to support the broader school program are essential.

Requirements
Required:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate Math endorsement (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated knowledge of math content and instructional best practices
Ability to effectively support diverse learners through differentiated instruction
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to maintain accurate student records and use assessment data to guide instruction
Preferred:
Experience teaching at the secondary level
Experience working in a small school or rural setting
Ability to integrate technology into instruction
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with staff, students, and families
