DESCRIPTION

Landscapes Golf Management is in search of the next General Manager to lead the team at Scottsbluff Country Club.  Landscapes Golf Management (LGM) has been assisting with the club in a supporting management role since 2020.

 

CLUB OVERVIEW

Scotts Bluff Country Club is the finest golf course in the Panhandle of Nebraska. The Frank Hummel designed championship golf course is set amongst mature trees, scenic lakes, sand bunkers, and picturesque homes.

Four different tee box settings provide distances that range from 5500 yards to 7000 yards to provide a suitable challenge and enjoyable round of golf for golfers of all abilities. The golf course, under GCSAA Superintendent Todd Orton, is green and lush throughout the year and the greens always roll true and pure.

The relatively flat golf course is designed with the walker in mind, with tee boxes located in close proximity to many of the greens. Included with your membership, however, is the use of a club cart. This perk allows all golfing members to enjoy a quick three or four holes during the lunch hour, as well as the traditional 9- or 18-hole rounds. Pace of play is not an issue at Scotts Bluff Country Club as most rounds finish well before the typical four-hour expectation. Tee times are easy to obtain by simply calling the golf shop. Included with your golf privileges are the use of the driving range, putting green, and chipping area. With these practice areas provided, a great opportunity awaits for members to improve their game or to simply loosen up before a round.

With over 500 members, the Club offer leagues for women, men, and couples, as well as a variety of tournaments for players at all levels. Scotts Bluff Country Club hosts the Oregon Trail Pro-Am annually that attracts pros from all over the region. Partake in our popular Member/Guest Tournament for a fun-filled weekend for you and your guest.

 

DINING

With an outstanding view overlooking the Frank Hummel designed championship golf course and Scotts Bluff National Monument, the clubhouse includes the following dining areas: formal dining room, ballroom, casual grill room, cocktail lounge, and deck. The clubhouse is the ideal place to enjoy a business or social lunch, a cocktail after golf or tennis, or an enjoyable dining experience with family or friends. The clubhouse is a fantastic setting for any dining occasion.

Experience dining at its finest whether it's by our floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace or in our exquisite dining room. For a more informal lunch or dinner, we offer our grill room with a fireside flair, our lounge area with flat screen TVs, or weather permitting, our deck with breathtaking views of our beautiful greens and the historic Scotts Bluff National Monument. Enjoy a romantic or business dinner in our formal dining room that features an elegant fireplace creating a wonderful atmosphere.

With our amazing Executive Chef, enjoy a wide array of wonderful appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Our professional servers have an impeccable reputation for their outstanding service and cater to each individual member. OTHER AMENITIES

The outdoor pool is seldom crowded and provides a relaxing environment with a spacious pool and patio area. The little ones can enjoy the baby pool that is separate from the main pool for safety. The pool has a diving board and slides to keep the kids entertained. Our pool staff is lifeguard and CPR certified. The pool is open from Memorial Day through September, weather permitting. Lifeguards are on duty during the peak season only. Private or group swim lessons are available for preschool age through intermediate. The pool is also available to rent for private parties in the evening. The full-service snack shack offers all kinds of snacks, sandwiches, and beverages, or you can order a drink or food from the clubhouse menu and have it brought to you poolside.

The facility has recently completed newly enhanced tennis facilities.  As part of our commitment to providing top-notch amenities, we are thrilled to announce the addition of two state-of-the-art tennis courts, meticulously constructed in 2023 using post-tension concrete technology by the industry-leading experts from Renner Sports, based in Denver, CO. Renowned as "The Leader in Tennis Construction," Renner Sports has ensured that our tennis courts meet the highest standards of quality, durability, and performance. Whether you're a seasoned player or just picking up a racket, you'll appreciate the superior playing surface and consistent bounce offered by our courts.

But that's not all! We're excited to announce that court lights will be installed soon, allowing for around-the-clock playability. Whether you prefer an early morning match or a late-night rally, our illuminated courts will accommodate your schedule.

And if you're looking to mix up your game, why not give pickleball a try? Right across the pavilion, we offer two lighted pickleball courts, providing even more opportunities for active fun and friendly competition.

Summer nights include Men's Tennis Leagues on Wednesday evenings, and Doubles Challenges on Friday evenings. Instruction is offered during the summer months. A $100 family or $50 individual yearly association fee provides entry in all events.

Experience Required

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in recreation, business management, agronomy, turf management or related field preferred.

Previous experience as a General Manager for a golf course or similar entity is preferred.

PGA member preferred but not required

Experience managing all aspects of a Golf or Country Club

Essential Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of all aspects of the club including its activities and the relationships between the club and its members, guests, employees, and community. Directs the work of all department managers. Implements and monitors the budget, monitors the quality of the club's products and services and ensures maximum member and guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Ensure club operations provide a first-class level of service for the best member/guest experience possible. Represents the club in a positive, professional and exuberant fashion at all times; mentor and monitor staff to ensure exceptional member/guest service.

Hire, manage and develop course department heads according to Company guidelines, including the food and beverage manager, golf course superintendent, head golf professional, assistant general manager, membership director and all other department heads; meets with department heads on a regular basis to ensure departments are performing to stated goals.

Identifies and manages the club's budget; monitors revenues and expenses of the club and generates weekly/monthly revenue reports; manages the daily financial needs and processes for the course.

Complies with the terms of purchasing agreements and vendor contracts.

Ensures payroll information is processed and submitted timely and accurately for the course; maintains and manages all employee files and records.

Ensures proper billing/invoicing of all course activity and functions; monitors accounts receivables to ensure collection of payments.

Develops course marketing plan and oversees the implementation of the plan on annual basis.

Responds to the needs of the membership through program development and general customer service requests.

Serves as the community liaison for the club; meets with special interest groups when necessary.

Consistently ensure that the club is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.

Develops, maintains and disseminates a basic management philosophy to guide all course personnel toward optimal results, employee morale and member/guest satisfaction.

Ensures all Human Resources, payroll, administrative and reporting requirements set by the Company are completed timely and accurately.

Must maintain the confidentiality of Company, club and employee information. 14. Enforces comprehensive safety programs for employees, members and guests on course in compliance with local, state and federal laws. 15. Communicates with the Board of Directors where applicable.

Skilled at planning and organization, with an ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.

Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and POS systems.
