About this role:
The USGA is seeking a highly motivated Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to support day-to-day campus operations and maintenance functions at the Pinehurst campus and regional properties. This individual will play a critical role in keeping our facilities safe, efficient, sustainable, and welcoming for staff, visitors, and partners. The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Campus Operations, provide daily oversight of contracted services, and take a hands-on role in maintenance and repair activities.

Golf House Pinehurst is a newly opened property on a 6.7-acre parcel featuring:
- A 26,000-square-foot testing and administration building.
- An 18,000-square-foot Museum, the USGA Experience & World Golf Hall of Fame which is open to the public seven days a week.
- 3.5 acres of landscaped outdoor areas and gardens, plus parking facilities.
The department also oversees additional off-site properties, including an Outdoor Testing Pavilion and a storage warehouse. The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating service contracts, assisting with the upkeep of MEP systems, monitoring repairs and construction projects, and providing direct, hands-on facilities support to campus users.
What You'll Do:
Campus Maintenance
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs when possible.
- Act as the main point of contact for maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generator, fire and life safety, security, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
- Coordinate and assist vendors and contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.
- Respond promptly to facility issues and work with staff to resolve them with a focus on customer service.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and support campus improvements.
- Conduct daily inspections and walkthroughs of building systems, equipment, and grounds to ensure they are operating as designed.
- Coordinate both scheduled and emergency services and repairs, as needed. Satisfactorily complete required training to support HVAC, boiler, fire and safety, electrical, and generator systems.
- Review manuals for equipment, furnishings and appliances to determine care and maintenance needs.
- Follow and update preventative maintenance schedules in the CMMS to ensure preventive tasks are completed on time.
- Monitor work orders, prioritize requests, and ensure documentation is accurate and closed out in a timely manner.
- Support campus energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (fire alarm, suppression, elevators, etc.) by using the CMMS to track inspections.
- Assist in fire safety training, conduct semi-annual fire drills, and perform routine safety inspections to identify hazards.
Contract and Administrative Management:
- Assist with service contracts (grounds, trash removal, irrigation, safety, compliance testing, etc.), ensuring documents such as insurance certificates, W-9's and safety data sheets are maintained.
- Coordinate vendor activities on-site and monitor performance against service expectations, reporting concerns to management.
- Support inspections, audits, and compliance checks by preparing documentation and escorting inspectors.
- Order supplies and maintain stock of building maintenance materials.
- Provide input to management for budgets, vendor relationships and vendor agreements/contract renewals.
- Recommend improvements to daily operations and the overall employee/visitor experience.
Construction Management:
- Oversee contractors working on campus projects to ensure safe practices and timely completion of work.
- Monitor daily progress, maintain a safe and efficient work environment and communicate updates to leadership.
Occupancy Support:
- Support a high level of customer service by keeping buildings, grounds, and common areas clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Provide facilities support for off-site priorities including the outdoor testing pavilion and storage warehouse.
- Assist with setups for events, meetings, catering, and other campus operational needs as required.

Where you'll be:
This position is based at our Pinehurst, NC campus, and will work on-site 5 days per week, Monday - Friday. As needed, there will be occasional support or response for after-hours events or emergencies. This is a full-time, salaried position classified as exempt from overtime.
What you bring:
- High school diploma required; advanced education or certifications in facilities management preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities, property management, or maintenance operations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of building systems, including large chillers and boilers, generators and electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety systems, and elevators.
- Demonstrated vendor and contractor management experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to identify repair needs and plan maintenance schedules.
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 trained.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CMMS preferred.
- Physical ability to traverse property, perform repairs, lift up to 40 lbs., and respond to emergencies.
- Valid driver's license required.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications. In addition to your base compensation, the USGA provides competitive benefit offerings for all full-time employees.
