Description
Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and oversee the manufacture and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems supporting DoD communication networks and mission-critical platforms. Apply electrical engineering theory and best-practice design methodologies to deliver solutions for military, industrial, and scientific applications. Collaborate with system architects, program managers, and field technicians to ensure all deliverables meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards in accordance with DoD specifications.
Filling this position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and supervise electrical systems supporting defense communication networks
Execute the full engineering lifecycle (concept, design, prototype, testing, and field installation)
Ensure compliance with DoD engineering standards and safety requirements
Produce technical documentation including drawings, test plans, and test reports
Conduct hands-on testing using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and environmental test chambers
Coordinate with manufacturing partners and oversee production runs to ensure quality and design conformance
Participate in design reviews and present technical findings to stakeholders
Track project schedules, identify risks, and support overall program execution

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline (no substitutions permitted)
Active DoD Top Secret (or higher) security clearance
Minimum three years of full-time professional engineering experience, including at least one year performing design, development, testing, or supervision of electrical systems for DoD communication networks or related infrastructure
Ability to independently manage engineering efforts in defense communication environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, or DoD-specific training)
Knowledge of power electronics, signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and high-frequency circuit design
Experience with PCB/EDA design tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or Cadence
Familiarity with DoD standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461)
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management fundamentals
Clearance Requirement
U.S. Citizenship required. Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility required.
Travel Requirements
Domestic travel up to 10% annually for site visits, testing, installation support, or coordination activities
International travel less than 5% annually, subject to clearance approval
