Summary
Colville School District is now accepting applications to serve a dual role: 0.5 FTE English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher at Colville High School and 0.5 FTE Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) Teacher at Panorama High School. The candidate must hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) and possess the academic background necessary for the assigned subjects and grade levels. The candidate is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a variety of learning experiences for students in cooperation with other staff members.
Essential Duties
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the school staff to support the primary goals of Colville High School, with a focus on planning, implementing, and evaluating a variety of learning experiences for students.
- Participate in weekly grade-level planning meetings and professional learning community (PLC) collaborations.
- Deliver effective instruction and assessment aligned with the Washington State Learning Standards and the District Curriculum goals for High School grade levels.
- Develop both long- and short-range instructional plans for assigned subject areas.
- Address individual learning needs and differences of students.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
- Foster a classroom climate built on mutual respect, rapport, fairness, and consistency.
- Exhibit proficiency in instructional skills.
- Evaluate instruction based on established goals and revise teaching approaches as needed according to evaluation results.
- Inform students of their progress in relation to learning objectives set for the lessons or courses of study.
- Interact positively with students, colleagues, and school district patrons.
- Perform job-related, non-teaching duties as assigned.
- Supervise student teachers, teacher assistants, tutors, and volunteers when applicable.
- Manage student discipline and attendance issues effectively.
- Participate actively in staff development activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents based on student progress in-person or in online classes.
- Ability to track student data to help determine proper interventions for student success.

Salary & Benefits Schedule
This position is part of the Colville Education Association (CEA) Teacher's Bargaining Unit. Salary is in accordance with the Colville Education Association (CEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position includes a full comprehensive benefit package with medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, and long-term disability, as well as participation in Washington State's school retirement programs. Qualifications

- Valid Washington State teaching certification with endorsement appropriate to the assignment. Note: Candidates with multiple endorsements preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with parents and to clearly articulate school programs and the State of Washington Essential Academic Learning Requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to decision making in collaboration with administrators, other staff members, and parent community.
- Knowledge of and ability to assess and design instruction for a classroom of diverse learners (English as a Second Language [ESL], highly capable, learning disabled, autistic, orthopedically or gross-motor impaired, health impaired, intellectually disabled, communication disordered, behavior disabilities, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods in grades 9-12.
- Demonstrated ability to use the four essential teaching behaviors of assessment, evaluation, planning, and instruction to deliver quality programs for all students.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective classroom management.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Must have knowledge and experience using technology in the delivery of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to analyze instructional practices through regular and ongoing observations and dialogues associated with mentoring and coaching.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- A favorable reporting of a state and national fingerprint background check is required.
