Position Overview:
The eCommerce Product Owner steers the digital commerce vision, transforming the company's online customer journey and competitive presence. This individual partners closely with assorted business units to craft, refine, and execute a robust eCommerce strategy—uniting technical insight with business acumen to deliver exceptional digital touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Direction & Customer Experience:
- Shape a multi-year roadmap for digital commerce solutions in harmony with enterprise priorities and customer needs.
- Establish metrics and performance indicators to track digital program impact.
- Leverage customer feedback, behavioral analytics, and market research to pursue enhancements that advance experience-driven results.
- Investigate industry developments to fuel innovation and keep digital capabilities advancing.
Multi-Disciplinary Partnership:
- Serve as principal contact across technology, commercial, support, and marketing teams, as well as with partner organizations.
- Lead requirements definition, backlog refinement, and business case development, ensuring ongoing prioritization aligns with broader growth strategies.
- Integrate project planning with the Business division, coordinating with Program Management resources to align budgets and timelines towards shared outcomes.
Product Ownership & System Integration:
- Take full accountability for the commerce platform, overseeing feature planning, implementation, and adoption—from conceptualization through launch.
- Engage cross-functionally with IT for seamless rollouts of new capabilities, advocating for technical enhancements that boost site performance and security.
- Guide UX/UI evolution and support data/process flows between online platforms and core backend business systems (like ERP, content, and product data management).
- Direct product development cycles using agile best practices, efficiently steering projects from inception to market.
Industry Awareness & Partner Oversight:
- Monitor competitive activity and emerging solutions to inform platform strategy and maintain digital leadership.
- Administer vendor and agency collaborations to reinforce platform objectives and experiential quality.
- Oversee external design and technology partners to maximize user satisfaction and business alignment.
Expected Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Product Management, Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated initiative with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication and follow-through skills with the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Data-driven mindset, using analytics and insights to inform decisions and improve business outcomes.
- Experience working with digital commerce platforms and their integrations with ERP and product information management (PIM) systems.
- Proficiency with B2B eCommerce platforms and supporting tools.
- Experience using data analytics tools to evaluate customer behavior and platform performance (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and experience working in a Windows environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working in agile project management environments.
- Advanced use of analytics to improve customer experience and digital performance.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and basic security practices to support platform integrity and collaboration with IT teams.
- Experience optimizing integrations between eCommerce platforms and enterprise systems (ERP, PIM, etc.).
Pre-Employment Requirement:
Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check. This requirement is especially critical for safety-sensitive roles.
The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. The actual pay will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
