General Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director of School Improvement & Educational Leadership, the Director plays a critical role in the development and support of school and district leadership in the ESD 112 region. This position will provide direction and oversight, serve as a source of district leadership during transitions, and will contribute to the building of systems and supports that increase student achievement across schools.
Salary:
The full salary range will be $126,214.40 - $153,545.60. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.
Assignment:
The position is full time, year round. This position will also serve as superintendent for Roosevelt School district for the 2026-27 school year, and will travel to the district as necessary.
Essential Functions/Other Functions
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a strategic partner and resource to ESD112 school districts, particularly during leadership transitions, to ensure coherence, alignment, and sustained impact of initiatives. May be assigned to serve as a part-time Superintendent of schools to assigned districts within the ESD112 region.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with regional districts to support strategic planning, system improvement efforts, and the development and implementation of district priorities and programs.
- Provide site-based coaching and leadership support to superintendents, principals, instructional leaders, and district teams to strengthen instructional leadership, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement practices.
- Provide support to ESD112 partner districts in navigating state and federal statutes, District policy alignment, and compliance systems, including guidance related to the Education Grants Management System (EGMS).
- Support ESD112 partner districts in collecting, analyzing, and responding to multiple sources of data-including academic, behavioral, perception, and systems data-to inform improvement efforts.
- Facilitate and support district and school improvement cycles, guiding leaders through inquiry processes including problem identification, root cause analysis, strategy selection, implementation monitoring, & evaluation of impact on student outcomes.
- Lead or support program reviews and evaluations to assess implementation fidelity, effectiveness, and compliance, providing clear feedback and actionable recommendations to school and district leadership.
- Provide leadership or support in the adoption and implementation of curriculum and evaluation of materials.
- Design and facilitate professional learning, leadership networks, and communities of practice focused on instructional leadership, educator development, continuous improvement, and district strategic initiatives, both collaboration with team members.
- Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Other Functions:
- Serve as a member of the Teaching and Learning Team to support the design, implementation and evaluation of new and existing initiatives.
- Prepare a wide variety of written materials, including correspondence, memos, agendas, budgets, grant applications, memos, training materials, for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in job related area and at least five years' experience as a building leader.
- Experience in fiscal management.
- Experience supervising staff including administrative staff.
- Experience working in/with a Pre K-20 system and experience working as a teacher of teachers or a comparable position training adults.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in Education
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington administrator or superintendent credential.
- Experience working for an ESD, regional service agency or government organization that provides to school districts or educational organizations.
- Experience teaching teachers.
Working Conditions/Employment Requirements
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Frequent travel within the ESD112 region and the state. Occasional out-of-state travel. Some overnight travel required.
- Extended or flexible hours as necessary.
- Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
