Description
Director - Fund Administration (Guernsey)This is a senior leadership role for an experienced fund administration professional who thrives on building high-performing teams, deepening trusted client relationships, and shaping the future of a growing funds business in Guernsey.
You will take ownership of a significant portfolio of fund clients, act as a strategic partner to those clients, and play a visible role in driving service excellence, commercial performance and sustainable growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team of fund administration professionals, providing clear direction, coaching and mentorship to ensure consistently excellent client outcomes.
- Own and manage senior client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and escalation point while continually enhancing service quality, client engagement and depth of relationship.
- Provide technical leadership across your client portfolio, acting as a subject matter expert for complex matters arising in private capital fund administration.
- Drive performance management, ensuring effective use of KPIs, strong operational controls, and full compliance with internal policies, regulatory and legal requirements.
- Enhance commercial performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, optimise fee structures and ensure the right balance between value for money and commercial return.
- Support business growth through attracting, developing and retaining high-calibre talent aligned to long-term succession planning.
- Contribute to operational excellence, supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of policies, procedures and service delivery frameworks.
- Play an active role in strategy, contributing to the development and execution of business plans that drive growth, scalability and profitability.
- Collaborate across the wider business, supporting governance, compliance, revenue growth, planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the business externally, participating in business development activity including client pitches, intermediary engagement, and raising professional profile through industry events, thought leadership and networking.
Governance & Professional Responsibilities
- Act as an authorised signatory in line with approved limits.
- Serve as a Principal Person for regulatory purposes where required.
- Act as a Director on client boards and participate in client governance structures.
- Chair or sit on operational or governance committees as appropriate.
- Maintain CPD and up-to-date technical, regulatory and industry knowledge.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- At least 10 years' relevant experience in the funds industry, with demonstrable experience operating at Associate Director level or above.
- Strong technical expertise in private capital fund administration, including private equity and venture capital structures.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with experience recruiting, developing and retaining high-quality professionals.
- Track record of building and sustaining senior client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
- Experience in business development, including pitching to prospective clients and intermediaries.
- Deep understanding of Guernsey's regulatory and legal environment for funds.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across client delivery, people leadership, commercial matters and strategic initiatives.
- Highly collaborative leadership style with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary (ICSA), Lawyer, or equivalent.
- Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in business, finance, economics or a related discipline.
