Description
This position leads and manages the general education programs and professional studies division of the College to support the mission, vision and strategic and instructional goals of the College through the development, implementation, evaluation and management of assigned instructional programs, services, budgets, initiatives and employees; leadership in curriculum, academic assessment, strategic planning and budgeting; and the use of enrollment management and retention strategies that foster collaborative working relationships.Essential Duties

- Manages and leads the general education programs and professional studies, having overall responsibility for curriculum and course planning, development and assessmentof programs, programmatic accreditation, and the supervision and evaluation of directors, department heads and staff
- Provides leadership, encouragement and supervision of the division's department heads to ensure the development and implementation of institutional and divisional initiatives and policies
- Coordinates class scheduling, curriculum and catalog revisions for the general education and professional studies departments in cooperation with all divisions; evaluates enrollment patterns, cost/benefit information, employment statistics and other data to identify class schedule opportunities and program development; and responds to student needs
- Coordinates dual enrollment and transfer partnership programs
- Provides support for faculty, staff and student concerns and provides input, support, guidance and administration of external grants
- Expands and improves relationships with external partners to enhance pathways for dual enrollment, student advancement and transfer
- Participates on college committees and organizes and/or chairs as assigned
- Champions student success strategies to improve retention and program completion
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree
- Six years of college teaching experience in a General Education (GE) or Professional Studies (PS) field
- Three years of supervisory experience in one of the GE or PS disciplines
- Progressive academic administrative experience including proven success in program planning, strategic planning, faculty evaluation, budget development, assessment and change
- Strong purchase order, grant administration, budget management, computer / software, financial management and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Think strategically and develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and goals for the College;
- Recognize college-wide priorities and work cooperatively and collaboratively to support their accomplishment;
- Market programs and establish positive public relations; and
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Valid driver's license
- Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A doctoral degree;
- Experience building collaborative community and academic partnerships; and/or
- Community college experience
Supplemental Information
This is a full-time standard administrative position with excellent fringe benefits. The starting salary will likely range from $107,500 to $131,750 per year, based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
