Title: Dean of Enrollment Management

General Summary: The Dean of Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for all areas of enrollment management at Middlesex Community College (MCC). Reporting directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Dean leads a coordinated effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and global student body aligned with the College's mission and strategic plan.
The Dean oversees the offices of Admissions, Advising, Enrollment Management, Registrar, Financial Aid, and the International Student Office, and is responsible for the effective integration of these units to promote an exceptional student experience from inquiry to graduation. The Dean also provides leadership for EAB Navigate, the College's student success and case management platform, ensuring its optimal use to support enrollment, retention, and completion goals. In collaboration with the Director of Institutional Research and the Chief Financial Officer, the Dean will develop and implement a multi-year strategic enrollment management plan that leverages data analytics, market research, and predictive modeling to inform decision-making and meet enrollment and retention targets.
As a senior leader within the Division of Student Affairs, the Dean plays a critical role in institutional planning, policy development, and cross-divisional collaboration with Academic Affairs, Institutional Research, and Marketing & Communications to advance MCC's commitment to access and student success for all students. The Dean ensures the effective use of technology across all enrollment areas, including Ellucian Banner and Self-service, Ellucian Degree Works, EAB Navigate, Salesforce and Liaison (TargetX) CRM, Softdocs Etrieve Content and e-Forms, Parchment e-Transcripts, Pearson's Credly, Gecko Chatbot, and other systems critical to student enrollment and success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and vision for the College's comprehensive enrollment management strategy, aligning recruitment, admissions, registration, financial aid, and international student services with institutional goals for access, retention, and completion.
- Oversee and integrate the work of Admissions, Advising, Registrar, Financial Aid, International Student Office, and related enrollment operations across both the Lowell and Bedford campuses.
- In collaboration with the Director of Institutional Research and the Chief Financial Officer develop and implement a multi-year strategic enrollment management plan that leverages data analytics, market research, and predictive modeling to inform decision-making and meet enrollment and retention targets.
- Provide leadership for the College's academic advising operations to ensure consistency, accessibility, and alignment with enrollment and retention goals.
- Oversee and assess the EAB Navigate platform, Ellucian Banner and Self-service Banner, Ellucian Degree Works, Salesforce and Liaison (TargetX) CRM, Softdocs Etrieve Content and e-Forms, Parchment e-Transcripts, Pearson's Credly, Gecko Chatbot, and other enrollment technologies to ensure integration with student success initiatives and improve the student experience.
- Collaborate with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, and Marketing & Communications to design and execute data-informed recruitment and retention strategies, including targeted international, out-of-state outreach, and in-state students who may be eligible for Free Community College (MassReconnect and MassEducate).
- Lead the Enrollment Working Group (EWG). EWG is a cross-institution collaboration to monitor the enrollment management plan and to reach our enrollment and retention goals.
- Lead and support efforts to enhance customer service and operational efficiency, ensuring an inclusive, student-centered experience across all enrollment-related offices.
- Ensure all departments within Enrollment Management engage in annual program learning outcomes assessment, utilize CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education) frameworks for reflective practice, and actively participate in the College's five-year program review process to promote continuous improvement and accountability.
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies and regulations.
- Promote professional development, innovation, and accountability among direct reports and divisional staff.
- Chair or serve on institutional committees focused on enrollment, retention, and student success.
- Represent MCC at local, state, national, and international meetings related to enrollment management, financial aid, and student success.
- Advance MCC's commitment to community vibrancy through intentional recruitment and retention strategies that serve historically underrepresented and international student populations.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, admissions, registrar, financial aid, or institutional research at an institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive enrollment management plans that improve access, retention, and completion.
- Demonstrated experience with student information systems, particularly Ellucian Banner, customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and integrated and advising systems such as EAB Navigate.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage budgets, and drive results through data-informed decision making using database and reporting applications such as Microsoft Access and Argos.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and to serving a unique and global student population.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a community college or similar open-access institution.
- Experience using EAB Navigate or similar student success and case management platforms.
- Experience with predictive analytics and data visualization tools to support strategic planning.
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency a plus
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $124,000-$134,000; actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits, which include:
