Overview
Sev1Tech is seeking a Configuration Manager to support the Program Executive Office (PEO) Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (MLB) which manages the logistics (LOG) Information Technology (IT) portfolio. This portfolio is composed of 300+ afloat and ashore IT systems/applications with 150,000+ users across all Naval Systems Commands (SYSCOMs) and Naval Operational Forces (NOF) to include ships, carriers, submarines, USN/USMC aviation squadrons, and Naval Expeditionary Forces. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a joint user of LOG IT capabilities and is part of the program requirements. LOG IT enables essential business operations for various capability groups.
The Configuration Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures
- Assist in the use of configuration management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items (Teamcenter)
- Understand basic concepts, and assist in documenting hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
- Implement hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures
- Understand basic concepts, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration
- Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process
- Utilize configuration management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items
- Maintain the CM environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration
- Develop hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed on hardware and software development projects
- Apply concepts and define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrate those scripts with the hardware and software build process
- Serve as an advisor to (or non-voting member of) Change Management Board (CMB)
Responsibilities
- Clearance: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and hold an active Secret clearance.
- Experience with configuration management in US Navy organizations.
- Experience generating CM related process diagrams and artifacts related to software delivery.
- Experience documenting deliveries to the cloud (AWS preferred).
- Experience documenting deliveries across multiple environments (pre-production to production ashore and afloat), including the promotion of code.
- Experience documenting emergency releases.
- Experience documenting work via epics/features/stories.
- Experience with sprint planning, execution, and post-delivery.
- Experience creating, managing, and reporting on CM-related activities, including system configurations/audits (source code versions for COTS, GOTS, and customized modules).
- Experience performing, identifying, and tracking diffs across multiple environments.
- Experience working with (and possibly serving on) Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
Qualifications
- CM experience in Navy organizations.
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
