Description
Overview**General Purpose:** Assists the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of club operations, including activities and relationships between members, guests and associates. Assists the General Manager with the financial responsibility for property. Also responsible for overseeing the delivery of sales & marketing programs and all sales associates.**Essential Duties:** Participants with the development, administration and achievement of the annual golf revenue plan, with hotel play and other outside play as target market. Leads the development and execution of strategic sales & marketing plans that effectively communicate overall facility sales goals, including strategic directions, key objectives, target segments, strategies, marketing & public relations and Troon programs on an ongoing basis. Leads the development of all facility related pricing and marketing initiatives including dynamic based pricing strategies. Strategically utilizes and understands different revenue opportunities for the facility, including local resorts and clubs, online third-party providers, the local competition and other partnerships or relationships, which offer revenue opportunities. Maintains a thorough understanding of golf operations; tee-sheet maximization; tournament maintenance schedules and group needs; and the key vendor relationships and the tools they offer to support and manage goals. Oversees the care and maintenance of all club physical assets. May coordinate maintenance efforts of Clubhouse Managers. Audits all inventories to assess control reliability. Identifies opportunities to control product costs and other expenses. Prepares and monitors quarterly revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) business volume reports and updating forecasts. Monitors all financial reports/statements on a monthly basis and recommends effective corrective action in cases of any negative budget variance. Monitors business volume forecast in each department and advises changes to plans or programs, in areas of manpower, productivity, COS, operating costs and other elements. Manages marketing efforts to continually promote controlled golf access to target markets. Leads overall facility sales efforts, including management of Sales Managers, as applicable. Participates in the day to day marketing efforts of the facility working closely with the General Manager. Continually researches and analyzes local market conditions to obtain an in-depth understanding of competitor's pricing strategies throughout the year. Maintains the ability to understand golf course inventory during different times of year, allowing the facility to maximize revenues with all round types and golf groups. Prepares reports such as annual sales plan, monthly sales reports, annual goals, sales & marketing budgets and forecasts. Responsible for creating and maintaining a thorough group database for the facility, allowing for high quality Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and prompt customer follow-up. Collaborates and assists key managers with developing and achieving business and operating plans. Participates in the creation of events and menus to entice variety of appetites, for both restaurants and banquets. Leads the creation of tournaments with local audiences such as Troon Cardholders, Troon Rewards members, key third-party customers, public golfers, etc. Provides oversight and assistance with the management of facility websites and search engine marketing campaigns including both golf and food & beverage. Assists the General Manager in monitoring success of all departments and department associates, including semi-annual performance reviews, as needed. Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work at all levels, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Organizes compilation of all necessary data required to prepare annual budgets for club, as well as the comprehensive annual clubs business plan. Serves as budget manager and as the point-person for timely and accurate completion of annual budgets for club operations. Monitors basic personnel policy, reviews policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs. Ensures that human resources procedures and policies are followed and that deviations are effectively managed. Updates and oversees implementation of policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with all company standards. Monitors overall club(s) safe-work practices and coordinates ongoing safety education programs. Regular and reliable attendance.
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience). Prior supervisory and management experience. Experience in the food & beverage and catering industry sales preferred. Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate. CMAA member, GCSSA or PGA/LPGA membership preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Strong attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects daily. Ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills. Extensive knowledge of facility services and amenities. Knowledge of EZ Links, Golf Channel Solutions and Jonas (or similar) applications is helpful. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
