Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Toronto or Montreal. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.The Client Service investment Associate will assist Client Servicing Senior Professionals in the administrative and client support activities for institutional clients. This role will deliver superior and meticulous client service and will work closely with the Client Servicing Senior Professionals to manage client accounts and problem-solve.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $84,000 to $126,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

We will count on you to:
- Play a primary role in the production of monthly & quarterly client performance reports, including, but not limited to:
- Collaborating with senior client service, consulting and reporting teams on client report production, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely delivery.
- Performing data reconciliation between various sources to ensure consistency and reliability of performance data.
- Conducting quality control checks on performance reports to maintain high standards.
- Assisting in identifying and resolving discrepancies or anomalies in performance calculations.
- Maintain expert knowledge on the specific characteristics and features of the various portfolios for which the Client Servicing Senior Professional is responsible, with a view to responding promptly and effectively to any client requests for quantitative and qualitative information (returns/products/strategies/transactions/administration), including LDI and alternative products strategies
- Investigate and resolve issues, complaints, and requests from clients, custodians and/or consultants
- Ensure that all documents presented to clients (quarterly meetings or ad hoc requests) reflect information that is both complete and of the highest quality, and are produced within the required timelines
- Build presentations and prepare documents for quarterly client meetings as required
- Collaborate with other members of Client Servicing Team on common projects (special events, process enhancements, etc.) and provide back-up to other Client Service Associates when necessary
- Additional ad-hoc projects and requests as required
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years' experience in a related investment management/financial services role with knowledge of client reporting, performance measurement, attribution analysis, trade lifecycle, securities, and associated attributes
- Basic understanding of investment performance concepts, including performance calculation methodologies and benchmarks.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and presentation preparation.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and thrives in a team environment, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound operational and compliance judgment
- Excellent awareness of risk environment
- Able to multitask and prioritize; experience managing expectations and delivery of services
- Experience with portfolio accounting and management systems
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel (including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools) and PowerPoint, as well as proficiency with web-based applications
- Successful completion of the CFA Investment Foundations or Canadian Securities Course is desirable
- Bilingual in English and French
- Existing registration (Ontario and Quebec Securities Commissions) as an advising representative, or willingness to work towards this designation
- Experience working with performance measurement systems or vendors (e.g., Investment Metrics (PARis), Bloomberg PORT, FactSet, eVestment, or similar platforms) is highly desirable.
