TEAK Fellowship is looking for experienced middle or high school-level instructors to teach Civics to TEAK Fellows in 8th grade. Instructors will work collaboratively as part of a team responsible for providing the curriculum structure. 

Teachers will teach approximately 15 students on Tuesdays during the 11 week Winter semester (Jan 20 - Apr 16, 2026) at Fordham Preparatory School.

TEAK is a ten-year enrichment program that offers New York City students from under-resourced

communities intensive after-school and summer academic classes, transformational cultural experiences,

secondary school, and college guidance, a vibrant internship program, and a robust support system. TEAK students earn admission and financial aid at our Nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and graduate from them determined to make an impact on communities in need of their contributions and leadership.

Salary is a maximum of $3200 for the term. Duties include:

Teach 1 section of Civics to 8th graders for 11 weeks from January - April 2026.

Provide 70 mins of instruction between 4:45-6:15 pm each Tuesday or Thursday (not including Public School holidays).

Use Google Classroom and assign up to 1 hour of homework weekly. Collect and grade Fellow homework weekly.

Attend pre- semester new instructor meeting TBD

Attend 30 min weekly planning meeting

Provide midterm and final grades, including writing student comments.
