Eaglewood Golf Course, a dynamic municipal facility overlooking the Salt Lake Valley in North Salt Lake, Utah, is seeking an enthusiastic, service-driven Assistant Golf Professional to join our team for the upcoming season.

The Assistant Professional plays a key role in delivering an exceptional golf experience. This position supports day-to-day golf operations; manages the tournament operations; helps manage the driving range, simulator bays, and cart fleet; contributes to merchandising and retail presentation; and participates in teaching and coaching opportunities alongside PGA Professionals. With a strong focus on service, learning, and leadership, this role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in golf or advancing through the PGA Associate Program.

Experience Required

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

• PGA Associate, Apprentice, or Class A Member preferred (or actively pursuing).

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in golf operations, tournament management, or related field.

• Demonstrated experience in tournaments, leagues, or player development programs strongly preferred.

• Experience with Golf Genius, Trackman, or similar systems preferred.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be highly professional, organized, self-motivated, and customer focused.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of golf operations, tournament formats, and event execution.

• Understanding of instructional programming, junior development models, and lesson structures.

• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate staff in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with golf technology platforms (Golf Genius, Trackman, POS systems).

Essential Responsibilities

General Purpose

The Assistant Golf Professional / Tournament Operator plays a key leadership role in the daily golf operations at Eaglewood Golf Course, with primary responsibility for tournament execution, player development programming, and front-line staff supervision. This position is designed to blend operational leadership with revenue-generating initiatives, including tournaments, leagues, and instructional programming.

This role oversees critical guest-facing areas including the golf shop, cart operations, driving range, and simulator experience, while ensuring a high standard of customer service and operational efficiency. The position works closely with the Head Golf Professional to elevate programming, enhance the player experience, and drive participation across all golf-related offerings.

Supervision Received

Works under the general direction of the General Manager and Head Golf Professional. This position is expected to operate with a high level of independence, decision-making ability, and leadership in executing tournaments, managing staff, and overseeing daily operations.

Provides direct supervision and leadership to:

• Pro Shop Staff

• Cart Staff

• On-Course Attendants

• Driving Range and Simulator Staff

• Cart Barn Maintenance and Fleet Readiness

• Storage Organization and Facility Standards

• Trackman Driving Range and Simulator Operations

• Director of Instruction coordination (program alignment and scheduling)

Responsible for staff training, scheduling input, performance oversight, and maintaining Eaglewood's service standards across all touchpoints.

Essential Functions

Tournament & League Operations (Primary Focus)

1. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all golf tournaments and outings.

2. Manage tournament sales pipeline, client communication, and event logistics.

3. Oversee tournament setup, scoring, Golf Genius administration, and post-event reporting.

4. Develop and execute league structures, including Trackman leagues and on-course events.

5. Continuously refine tournament strategies to maximize participation, revenue, and guest satisfaction.

Player Development & Instruction

6. Support and collaborate with the Director of Instruction on all player development programming.

7. Teach private lessons, group clinics, and junior programs.

8. Assist in the execution and growth of:

o PGA Jr. League

o Operation 36

o Junior Camps and Clinics

o Adult Player Development Programs

9. Drive engagement and retention through structured instructional pathways.

Operations & Staff Leadership

10. Oversee daily golf shop operations, including tee sheet management, customer service, and pace-of-play initiatives.

11. Supervise and coordinate staff across pro shop, carts, range, and on-course operations.

12. Ensure proper cart fleet management, including cleanliness, staging, rotation, and maintenance coordination.

13. Maintain high standards of organization across storage areas, workspaces, and operational systems.

14. Oversee Trackman Range and simulator operations, including leagues, bookings, and customer experience.

Customer Experience & Revenue Growth

15. Execute high-level customer service standards and resolve guest concerns professionally.

16. Support merchandising strategies, retail presentation, and sales initiatives.

17. Drive utilization of all golf amenities including range, simulators, leagues, and instructional programs.

18. Actively contributes to a positive, engaging, and professional golf environment.

Additional Duties

19. Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily facility readiness.

20. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall golf course operations and strategic goals.
