Description
OverviewPort Huron Golf Club is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to support the daily golf operations of a private, member-owned club. This position works closely with the Head Golf Professional to deliver a high-quality golf experience while maintaining strong relationships with members and guests.
The Assistant Golf Professional will be involved in a wide range of responsibilities including golf shop operations, member services, tournament and outing support, instruction programs, and outside services. This role is well-suited for a PGA Associate or aspiring PGA Professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a full-service private club environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for the game of golf and member service. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, instruction income, and exposure to all facets of golf operations within a respected private club setting.
Experience Required
Experience Required / Preferred
- Strong understanding of member experience and private club service standards, with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver consistent, high-level service
- Experience managing or supporting outside services operations, including bag room flow, cart staging, pace of play support, and member arrival experience
- Ability to lead and coordinate outside services staff at a high level while maintaining professionalism, efficiency, and service expectations
- Experience with tee sheet management, including reservations, member access, event blocks, and daily play coordination
- Working knowledge of golf cart fleet management, including staging, cleanliness, charging procedures, rotation, and basic operational oversight
- Experience using Golf Genius Tournament Software for tournament setup, scoring, live leaderboards, and event administration
- Experience assisting with tournament and outing management in a private club environment
Prior private club experience and PGA Associate or Class A status are preferred.

Essential Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Head Golf Professional in all areas of golf operations, with a primary focus on member experience and service excellence
- Lead and elevate outside services operations, setting service standards for bag room flow, cart staging, member arrival experience, and pace of play support
- Manage daily member play coordination in collaboration with outside services staff, golf shop operations, and the tee sheet
- Support and assist with tournaments, leagues, and club events, including preparation, execution, scoring, and member communication
- Actively support a large and engaged Ladies Golf Association, working with the Head Golf Professional to ensure quality programming and a positive member experience
- Promote and support club programs and initiatives, helping drive participation and engagement among the membership
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct consistent with a private, member-owned club environment
- Deliver high-level golf instruction using modern teaching methods and technologies as directed by the Head Golf Professional
- Support and play golf with members when appropriate, at the direction of the Head Golf Professional, to enhance relationships and member engagement
