OverviewAbout Westmoreland Country Club
Founded in 1904, Westmoreland Country Club moved to its current location in 1954 and has a long-standing reputation as one of Western Pennsylvania's premier private clubs. The Dick Wilson-designed golf course is known as one of the most complete tests of golf in the state, rewarding sound strategy, ball-striking, and thoughtful course management.
Westmoreland is a family-oriented club offering golf, racquet, and swimming amenities. The club is home to over 400 member families and hosts approximately 18,000 rounds of golf annually, supporting a full schedule of tournaments, instructional programs, and junior golf activities.
The golf operation also includes an indoor TrackMan facility, which allows for year-round instruction, club fitting, and player development and creates meaningful offseason teaching opportunities for the professional staff.
Position Summary
Westmoreland Country Club Assistant Golf Professional is a hands-on, highly visible role that supports all aspects of the golf operation while delivering a high level of service to the membership. The position is ideal for a PGA Associate or Class A Professional who takes pride in day-to-day operations, enjoys working with members of all ages, and is committed to continued professional growth.
The Assistant Golf Professional will be actively involved in daily golf shop operations, tournament administration, instruction, and player development. The role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to build positive relationships with members and staff, and comfort working in a fast-paced private club environment.
This position runs March through December, with seasonal flexibility available for candidates pursuing North/South employment opportunities. The role provides meaningful teaching opportunities, supported by an active membership and the club's indoor TrackMan facility. In 2025, the assistant professional staff generated over $40,000 in lesson revenue, reflecting strong demand for instruction.

Essential Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation of the golf shop, including member service, tee sheet management, and point-of-sale transactions
- Provide high-level service and on-course presence to members and guests
- Assist in the planning, administration, and execution of club tournaments and events, including scoring, rules administration, and event setup
- Support the club's instructional programs, including private lessons, group clinics, and junior golf programming
- Utilize the club's indoor TrackMan facility for instruction, player development, and offseason teaching
- Assist with golf shop merchandising, inventory control, and presentation
- Support the junior golf program and family-oriented golf initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Golf and professional staff to maintain efficient, organized golf operations
- Maintain a visible, professional presence, including interacting with members on the golf course and during club events
