Overview

The Assistant Golf Professional supports the overall golf operations at Pala Mesa Golf & Resort, a public facility dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for golfers of all levels. This position involves daily interaction with guests, assisting with managing the golf shop, assisting with tournaments and instruction programs, and ensuring the highest standards of service and professionalism.

Experience Required

• PGA Associate or willingness to pursue PGA membership preferred.
• Previous experience in golf operations, retail, or hospitality is strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of golf, rules, and etiquette.

Essential Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to all guests, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable golf experience.
• Golf Operations: Assist with opening and closing procedures, tee time management, pace of play, and course setup.
• Golf Shop Management: Perform sales, merchandising, and inventory control. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment.
• Tournament Support: Assist in organizing and executing tournaments, outings, pairings, and event coordination.
• Instruction: Provide individual or group lessons, clinics, and junior programs as directed by the Head Professional.
• Player Relations: Enforce course policies courteously and maintain a visible presence on the course.
• Administration: Handle point-of-sale transactions, maintain accurate records, and assist with reporting and scheduling.
• Other Duties: Support range operations, cart fleet management, and general facility upkeep as needed.
