Description
OverviewThe course at Klipper Golf is an 18-hole world-class course, located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. It offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Ko'olau Mountains, and is a peaceful escape in a natural environment. The course is open to military personnel, families, and authorized guests, and offers lessons, clinics, and tournaments.
Essential Responsibilities
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.
Assists in the operation and maintenance of a golf course, which includes eighteen holes, fairways, greens, practice areas and driving ranges. Responsible for providing technical advice and equipment. Assists in coordinating, scheduling and conducting tournaments and special events and may instruct member golfers. Assists in the operation of a Pro Shop and golf cart rental area.
Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Assists in preparing financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary.
Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, manages activity employees. Trains employees, plans work schedules, appraises performances, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation, hazardous material handling and other environmental issues. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
Manages new property resources and may provide advice on renovations and improvements. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
Must possess three years experience that demonstrates professional knowledge of golf operations. An Active ¿Class A¿ member of the Professional Golfer¿s Association of America is preferred. Must be able to show ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Be knowledgeable of pertinent safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations, to include matters relating to chemicals, spray, and other agents. Knowledge of non-appropriated fund policies and procedures preferred. Skill to supervise employees in accomplishment of work. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
