Description
Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, performs highly responsible administrative and managerial work in assisting the City Manager with the supervision and direction of City programs and projects. Incumbent has direct responsibility for supervision of departments/agencies which may include public works and utilities, engineering, planning and economic development, and community development/grants as assigned. Work is performed with considerable independence. Work is reviewed through observation, conferences, reports, and results achieved. Performs other work as required.
Requirements
Completion of a master’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in Public Administration, Urban Policy, Business Administration, Engineering, Planning or a related field. At least five years’ experience as a City Manager, Assistant City Manager, or Department Head in a municipal or project management environment, or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience as determined by the City Manager.
Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record held throughout employment. Applicants may possess a valid out of state driver’s license and obtain the Florida driver’s license within 10 days of employment.
