Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Account Handler to join our specialist Heritage team. This role involves supporting a diverse portfolio of clients-from SMEs to large corporate organisations-across a wide range of commercial insurance products. You will play an essential role in delivering exceptional client service, managing day‑to‑day account activity, and ensuring smooth and accurate administration throughout the policy lifecycle. Full training will be provided, along with opportunities for professional development and industry qualifications.Key Responsibilities Client & Portfolio Management:
• Ensure the smooth running of an assigned client portfolio on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Act as the first point of contact for all client and insurer enquiries.
• Handle inbound new enquiries and quotes.
• Develop, maintain, and cultivate professional and constructive relationships with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders at all levels.
• Provide timely, proactive responses to queries from clients and insurers.
• Offer guidance and advice to clients across various policy types, including Fleet, Commercial Combined, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber, Crime, and Group PA/Travel.
Policy Administration:
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments, and inbound enquiries.
• Assist with policy placements and utilise binding authorities.
• Set up all necessary actions for new business quotes, sales, renewals, and MTAs.
• Resolve discrepancies in provider documentation prior to issuing documents to clients.
• Maintain accurate and compliant client records in line with internal systems and protocols.
Service & Performance:
• Achieve agreed retention rates and contribute to cross‑selling and referral targets.
• Deliver a high‑quality, professional telephone service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Criteria - must be clearly demonstrated on CV Experience:
• Background in insurance-within either an insurer or broker environment.
• Experience in customer service and/or sales.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage large volumes of information efficiently.
• Proactive, self‑motivated attitude with the confidence to use initiative.
• Effective teamworking, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Resilience to manage challenges and respond constructively to feedback.
